Maybe I'm one of the few that feel this way, but I actually felt more safe with the dominant police presence. It was quite scary walking through the streets and seeing the aftermath of what had happened earlier. And you're right about people standing by with their cameras and cellphones, trying to capture videos to post on Youtube. I took a couple of pics on my phone too, not to post online or anything - I just like having them on my phone so it can remind of that eventful Saturday. LOL I was downtown working that Saturday.
