as a pylon – a bollard

so bullish with bright and dull

– stalking stillborn sounds on city streets -

[wayward hips and clicking heels and so much palaver]

While running around doing job interviews – I saw two “punk” teens were sitting cross-legged outside of a McDonalds begging for food (one girl and  sleepy looking guy – no more than 16).

I always hear that people would be willing to help the homeless if they wanted food instead of money.

Except no one was willing to help them…well, not no one, just not anyone who wasn’t me. Maybe it takes knowing what it is to be hungry to reach out. Read the rest of this entry »

sonic&mario

Back when I was a tyke, I used to play video games. I thought they were pretty cool. In university, I thought they were an emerging media – one that begs to be studied. I remember when my parents once yelled at me saying gaming was pretty stupid when I was 10.

They were just trying to be great parents…but what they unleashed was a conviction that I would include my hobby into my work/school life. I now run a couple of video game sites, have taught new teachers about gaming, done classroom lessons with games included, and for the next little while I will be working for Nintendo! SWEET.

You know, sometimes, you just gotta keep on dreamin’
