Ever since hearing “Bedroom Windows” on Short Music for Short People, I have nothing but admiration and adoration for the artists that made up Enemy You.
It is the purest sampling of punk rock you can get. It is all harmony, melody, heart and speed. The band is one of my all-time favorites and it often gives me the inspiration to write.
Furthermore, they write songs about things that matter. Songs about: life, poverty, politics, hope, individuality and love. They only released 2 albums and one E.P. before splitting up and working with other bands. Definitely worth checking out.
Today, walking around the desolate streets of Kirkland Lake (for work) I had this song playing through my head…it’s weird how being away from the people you care about can affect your mental state.
You know, that weird period of time when the only notes you get in your inbox or on your phone is from some stupid company trying to sell you something? The moments when real people seem so far away? I love this song because it portrays that modern disconnect in such a real way.
I love kung-fu.
This one is a Thai Kung Fu Movie that has as much heart as it does action. The storyline follows around a young austic savant who wishes to save her mother.
For an action movie, it treats its serious side very well. The main actress does an incredible job. I was so blown away, I had to post about it here. It’ll most likely end up in my blu-ray collection sooner rather than later.
